MACJOURNAL FOR IPAD - REVIEW (7.5/10)
MacJournal for iPad is a journaling and blogging application released by Mariner Software.

The application basically allows you to create a journal, and then you can add an entry. This appears as a blank entry page, with the name being the date, until the topic name is added. You can add a Topic and custom Tags to the entry. The entry itself is all text based.
The user interface is generally easy to use once you get the hang of the buttons and what they do. However, there are some strange setup's in the application, like you need to select edit in order to add a new journal, rather than have the option available at all times. When you do click on Add New, the popup appears with only a cancel button, you need to press done of the keyboard in order to add the Journal.
The export options give you the option of email or sending to various blog sites, these include: Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, Wordpress and MobileMe. You can also set up a custom upload if you have a URL to post via, but I was unsuccessful in my attempt at this one.
You do have the option to SYNC with MacJournal on the MAC if you own it.
On the upside:
- Nice plain user interface for blog entry.
- Very simple to upload your article to a blog, if you have one of the standard accounts.
On the downside:
- Just a bit too limited in what it can do, for some bloggers.
- Minor issues with the strange set up of the user interface.
Overall, this a very good way of handling your blog posts on the move. The post to blog generally works well and can save a lot of time. The success of this application depends if you can use it in your daily work flow. For me, it would not be able to do all the things I require, but for those with a simpler text based blog then this could be a perfect solution, especially if you have multiple blogs.
